The name Lebanon comes from the Semitic root lbn, meaning "white", likely a reference to the snow-capped Mount Lebanon.[15] Occurrences of the name have been found in texts from the library of Ebla,[16] which date to the third millennium BC, three of the twelve tablets of the Epic of Gilgamesh (May be as early as 2100 BC), and almost 70 times in the Bible,[17] which is itself named after Byblos, a city in Lebanon.
I didn't know that the name LEBANON was so old, more than 5000 years...and I never knew that the Bible was named after Byblos (Jbeil)...I think that's pretty interesting...what facts do you have about Lebanon or your countries?
Yes I actually know about the name Lebanon, but the stuff about bible being names from byblos is just something to make it special, NOT TRUE! Byblos is a Phoenician word, and the bibles were combined in the known holy book not even close to Lebanon, so it's really not related!!
I know this since young. Lebnen or Liban is the same as anywhere in ancient Yemen to Mountains of Syria and Lebanon to Malta. Its a very ancient Semitic name.
Lebanon also is house of Whores in the ancient times plus they are plundered by Assyrians and other Semitic tribes
They cant get along during Phoenicians time Sidon will Fight with Tyre well documented in History
Its a beautiful geographical area like along Syrian and Israel/Palestinian coast but these areas are inhabited by Whores , Backstabbers, Sold outs, and ridiculous Religious fanatics
Nothing has changed last I visit.
Oh yes the Greek stole Phoenicians Alphabet and from Ebla Syria.

i know that Jericho in Palestine is the oldest city in the world. the dead sea has the highest salt concentration of any body of water (33%), also the lowest point in the world is the dead sea shore in Palestine-Jordan (1369 ft below sea level), and in Islam some scholars say that the entire area west of the jordan river to the mediteranean sea is holy.
