I think both are great in their own ways, wolves are fascinating in their pack heirarchy, and their wild natural instincts. But domesticated dogs are fascinating in the many different breeds all originating from one animal, and all the different jobs they are able to do, herding, guarding, retrieving, hunting, tracking, and then you have dogs from the svelte greyhound, to the slow pekingese. Both are impressive and I don't know if I like one is more impressive than the other.

I'll give my quarrels for both. It takes a certain kind of man to --dances with wolves-- and a different kind of man to --dances with dogs--. While wolves have more appeal in RURAL areas, dogs have, by far, have a lot more fun that wolves on a daily basis. Everyday you may see a dog walking up stairs, in a 4th of july parade, or playing in the park. Everyday you might see a wolf growling at a rabbit, licking its chops or fighting with relatives.

All dog breeds are genetically related to the wolf. All dog breeds communicate and all dog breeds are able to live in harmony with humans. Huskies, Samoyeds, German Shepherd Dogs, Malamutes....they are no more related to the wolf than the Chihuahua or the Maltese. Put one dog of every registered AKC breed into a pen. What will you have? A pack. They will communicate amongst themselves using very complex body language. They will develop a hierarchy. They will ALL be included in this social hierarchy. By the term wolf-like I assume you're asking which breed of dog is MOST related to the wolf. My answer to you is that all dogs are related to the wolf. Buy yourself a Labrador and it will respect you as an omega respects an alpha. Buy yourself a Yorkshire Terrier and it will communicate with you as it would communicate with its pack.

Domesticated Dogs - You can train them to do just about anything - they are loyal, smart, they have a vocabulary of about 200-400 words and they are sweet when cared for and properly trained.
