What is the fundamental component of a soul?

I kind of think it's experience...with experience involving meaning (meaning in a way being relations to other experiences) and flow (flow being the sequence of events within the experience).

some people say we are a collection of our experiences.
I really struggle to understand what purpose a soul has outside of physical reality, i mean without the reference of events then the meanings become arbitary...so what would hold ones soul together after death? even if the living have memory of you they never have it complete. Is there some higher soul that rises out of ones experience? the super ego perhaps

Most of you seem caught up on your preconceptions. I guess none of us have clear distinctions for words like soul, god, meaning, hope, fear, emotions.

The Buddhist actually was the most open.

The fundamental component?, sort of the building block if you will..what you would consider a soul's substance to be

Oh chemically soul...I think that would be more of a pattern than a chemical...structural not constitutional

A church made out of clay or gold is still a church...if that makes sense

the Buddha taught that there is no permanent, unchanging, individual soul. Just an ever changing stream of consciousness without identity or permanence.

Oh! I thought you meant like "chemically". That would also be cool to know what the chemical make-up of a soul is.

Your soul is you. you're molded by potential of the responses you would be able to desire to the comments on your existence. in case you desire your soul to be what it will be, you are able to experience and respond to God.

Your soul is you. You are molded by the responses you have to the experiences in your life.

If you want your soul to be what it should be, you should experience and respond to God.

soul = body + spirit

The body is dust and the spirit is God's breath of life that animates the otherwise dead body.

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Scientific folk cannot conceive of this because the understanding is of God
