It is not unusual, even common, for people to attend reunions for the year in which they would have graduated if they hadn't flunked out, dropped out, or moved. After a number of years, it is just an excuse to renew old friendships and talk about the good old days.

Schools with Alumni/ae Offices encourage this and don't treat those who attended and left much differently than those who stayed and graduated, especially if they have any money to contribute.

More than likely the writers goofed due to a lot of seasons and possibly running out of fresh ideas. You would think that these shows would have a team of people that would know the extensive history of the show and examine the scripts for any inconsistencies with prior episodes or even seasons.

It became a marvel to three that I got here out whilst i became 18. i became in no way a jock, or a women guy in extreme college, yet apparently i did not stand out as gay. some people close to to me had figured it out. i became in a extreme college classification of one hundred people, and so some distance as i understand, i became the only gay guy.

You know, I was thinking the same thing....BUT I've seen a few TV shows that mix up their stories...just SO they can have something to "do" for that one episode. That's probably all it was.

Maybe he still got to go since he had been a student at the school and they all knew him
