How many CD´s have been sold with Beethovens Music on?

All time since the CD was invented. Does anyone know how much money that would represent if let´s say someone from Beethoven´s family lived and could claim the money?

First of all, he died in 1827. Second, I still do not know how many CD´s have been sold with at least one Beethoven composition. Last but not least let´s assume the family member would inherit the money. There is no family member either so the second question is only theoretical.

We cannot assume that family members would inherit the money for, as the first answer rightly says, copyright in the EU only lasts for 50 years from the date of death (even if he got the year wrong). So even if there were a family member alive, there would be no money to inherit. Furthermore, I doubt if anyone could give you the figure of the number of CDs sold with at least one Beethoven composition on. Who would keep such information?

Number of CDs is greater than one (no one could know an exact count)

The music is in the public domain, copyright is on the recordings and protects the recording from being used in an unauthorized manner (like redistribution on the "campanota" label out of a suitcase in a back alley.)

Well as copyright law for music only lasts 50 years in Europe & Beethoven died in 1773 the answer is nothing
