Atheists: Explain how these Biblical prophecies came true 2,000 years before they occured?
These are all Biblical prophecies, 1. Daniel 12:4 (New King James Version) 4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Fulfilled: Between then and around mid-1850's, the world really didn't advance that much. But since 1850, the world has gotten very advance and man has gotten much smarter.
2. Is. 66: 8-15 and Jeremiah 23: 6-10 clearly predicts the rebirth of Israel twice. It happened first in 512 BC and then again in 1947 AD.
3. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[a] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
Well there have been a massive increase of famines lately. Earthquakes are very frequent now. In the 1500', we have records of 506 earthquakes. In 1900, there was 461 alone. In 1999, there was 4,084 in 1994, 7,802 in 2004, and this year so far there have been 8,101 earthquakes! And don't claim our technology to detect them has improved. That's a way around it. The wars have gotten very frequent. And all the atheists actions have confirmed "that the world will hate you because they hated me".
4. "And the stars shall fall from heaven." Matthew 24:29
Many creationists are now convinced based on recent finds that the Great Fire of Chicago began when a massive star tumbled to earth. It broke apart in the atmosphere and rained down. Look it up, there were eight villages burned down that night in four states in the area, one massive deadly wildfire in Wisconsin, and several wildfires in Illinois and Iowa.
So with all this prophecy that came true, why do atheists still reject the Holy Word?
My sources, Creation science magazines Jack Chick tracts John Haggi books Perry Stone Prophecy Ministry Bible Research. Chicago Historical Society Illinois State Historical Department Ken Ham Answers in Genesis
And I AM NOT a dumbbell. I graduated from my small town Christan school with 41 credits, 16 of them in Bible related classes. So don't defy Christians. I got me a diploma and I am a smart guy.

it was 1948. obviously history was not one of those 41 credits.

saying our technology has gotten better isnt a way around it. you are counting the ones that measure .0001 magnitude. thats like me saying every time i jack off i am having sex with someone. wars havent gotten more frequent. hundred years war anyone? one hundred f.u.cking years of war between 2 countries. in fact, europe, until the end of ww2 was almost always involved in a war in some part of the continent. and learn some damn grammar. at least put the period inside the quotes where it belongs. and dont say im using bad grammar, because im obviously not trying. you tried. fail.
Maybe I'm confused... but these are all 'prophecies?' Making a prediction about the natural paradigm of the world suggest supernatural and holy knowledge?
1. Predicting man will get smarter... yeah, that's what we do... we think, reason, and discover. This is largely why we don't put stock in prophecies anymore because we now understand things like meteorology, plate tectonics, the greed and fickleness of mankind, astronomy, and train schedules. Things happening after we predict them doesn't phase us anymore... if my plane gets to atlanta by the time written on the ticket, I don't worship the airline that printed the ticket.
2. If israel falls and is reborn a third time, will the prophecy toggle back to unfulfilled? This is kind of a political prophecy, right? Let me make one... I predict that the constitution of the us will one day have 28 amendments. As God is my witness!!!
3. Here we go... predicting that natural disasters will contue to occur seems more like a reasonable assumption rather than a prophecy... I predict that earthquakes will continue to occur anywhere there are active faults, hawaii's volcanoes will erupt some more, and people will tend to suffer the flu around about the time flu vaccination shots get posted at the rite aid... am I a prophet?
4. I observed the leonid meteor showers this year, and I observed ot in 2001... I haven't gotten out to view them every year, but I know that I'll get another chance to do it next year and every year we pass through the leonid cloud. I'd say this 'prophecy' was a pretty good guess for people with a very limited understanding of astronomy... but not really a prophecy. Meteors are going to occasionally hit the earht... there's nothing supernatural about it. If one manages to 'smite' a city... that's just bum luck. I saw the peaskill meteorite zip through the sky the night it pulverized the trunk of a car in baltimore I think it was... was that car a sinner? Was it smited by god? Or was it just a remarkable event of chance... do cars have original sin?
Prophecies that were fulfilled in the span of history the bible depicts don't really count since the author can just (brace yourself) retroactively make it up. All the rpophecies that you point out as being fulfilled in contemporary or modern history... all sound like patterned assumptions. The sun rose everyday for as long as I remember... I assume it will rise again tomorrow. Prophecy!!!!
There are all things that would almost certainly happen, but for the fun of it, let's go through them all :)
1) The Bible predicted that knowledge would increase... GENIUS!
2) As far as I can tell (and I just read it in my Bible) it only predicts that Jeruselum would be taken again. ... Wishful thinking!
3) Let's get one thing clear... famine is not on a rise. There is less famine today than 2000 years ago, and we have a much larger population to deal with. Also it predicts war and that people will go against God. Wow, I can't believe how smart this book is. And the Earthquake thing, our instruments have gotten better. Most recorded Earthquakes are occuring far beneath the surface under the Ocean. Without sensetive equipment we wouldn't even know about them, but I'm quite sure they didn't just start.
4) So he predicted a meteor shower... if he never saw one in his life then I guess it's sort of interesting, but otherwise... LAAAAMMMMEEEE!
I reject them because they aren't prophecies. It's the same thing as if I wrote: "You shall look at grass one day, and then 2 weeks later, and it will have grown." If you aren't amazed by my predicition, then I don't know why you would be amazed by those in the Bible.
There have always been loads of earthquakes we are better at recording them now also we know how they are caused and it is not anything to do with any god taking revenge or punishing. Wars are no more frequent than they have always been as there has always been war going on somewhere and there still is All those predictions are general and anyone with a bit of thought could make them Also it is fairly clear that you are a dumbbell 41 credits from a small town christian school 16 in bible related classes. What on earth is a credit and what use is one in bible related classes and what were the other 25 in? Knitting, painting by numbers, and sewing etc. probably.
Predictions are mostly nonsense. Like most of the bible is also. I see you quote from the King James. Everyone I talk to in the christian comunity says that is the worst bible printed. I am atheist and read the King James. of course I don't believe any god like that could be so stupid and still create a universe of this magnitude. To start with, this god has emotions. Gods as a rule don't work well when the emotions get involved. This god is said to have created all the players, then picked the sides, and then had a war, in heaven of all places. This is the stupidest statement I could read in any dime novel. Think about this for one second. This god creates all the players....number one. Then this god takes it upon itself to pick the sides. then does it have a great BBQ. No sir, this god has a war. The bible states how the emotions ruin all of this gods createion. Haveing favorates of it's creation. How could any god create all and love any more of it than any other part. Total nonsense. Then this god kills all the first born, [innocent colateral damage.] of Egypt. Killing another part of it's creation. And that thing this god did in killing everything in some flood because it's human experiment didn't turn out well because the first parents had the same blood type and had two crazy kids because of it. One killed the other over a stupid arguement of which smells god liked the best. Total insaneity. And that insaneity spread all threw all the generations untill god had to call in some sons it created way before the universe and humanity creation. God also gave the sons human reproductive organs, before there were even humans. Then god put these sons in a heaven of their own without any women and they all turned out Gays. But god thought that if some of the sons came and got some earth women in trouble with children it might straighten out the crazy humans. Well, when god check in a few generations later the humans were still all crazy only now they were also Gay. So god in it's infinate wisdom, just killed everything. Then later down the road after god saw things wern't working out, god changed and and made itself a human [Jesus]. Was that something to do with haveing teasticals. Emotions and testicals never did go well togeather, now we have them both on a god. Bottom line is, god and his good son Lucifer are still laughing their asses off over that Talking Snake trick they did on the brainless earth woman Eve.
