Had job interview and they didn't ask for references?

I just had a job interview which I felt went really well except.. they did not ask me to provide any references. Does this mean forget it?

Did you fill out a usual employment form with all your info on it? If they didn't give you a form ( which would have included references) to fill out...I would say forget it.

Not necessarily - not everyone checks references. And they usually wait to check them until their selection is tentatively narrowed down to one person, so they still might call and ask for references.
