for 35000 per month you could afford any house in Singapore, I think you made a typo and you meant 3500, you could get a reasonable apartment on that salary and sublet a room or two

You mean $3500.00 (three thousand five) or you meant $35,000.00 (thirty five thousand)
If it's $3500 than a HDB rental room would be appropriate you can rent a room for $600
If it's $35,000 you can rent a terrace house for about $3000 or even a bungalow house for $10,000 hope you get the picture.
