I just had to ask a Q in parenting and the parents SLAMMED a book I was asking about for kids. It is a book about inter-racial families and the response was "NOT IN MY HOUSE"! Geez. Lets keep our kids hidden from the real world.....

I feel sorry for you. I once made the mistake of asking a question in Parenting/Families. All I can say is, if these are the people who are responsible for raising our next generation, we are in BIG trouble.
I prefer the nutcases here in PandS. At least you can see them coming.

I haven't been slammed... yet. However, I would like to share one thought with you. Teaching your kids about the real world is a decision only you can make. All I can suggest is, wait until you know the time is right for them to learn it. Some parents rush to tell their kids all of the bad things in the world and it can shorten their childhood freedom and joy. Everyone needs to learn things but it should be in their own time (so to speak). That time is something you need to decide. One other thing, you might be surprised to learn your kids might already past the stage where teaching them might actually mean anything. Sometimes waiting for them to discover it helps prevent them from developing bad habits themselves. Good luck!

Politics and r & s are just horrible places to be, you do get the odd nice person in r & s but on the whole its just a place to insult people and attempt to hurt others.
