i woke up this morning with pain in my lower back as i layed in bed,?

i woke up this morning with pain in my lower back as i layed in bed, when i tried to stand up the pain brought me to my knees, it even shot pain through my thighs...it still hurts but ive been stretching and making myself walk it off (slowly but surely)and i am now more mobile but still in pain...is this a stiff back or what? Since the pain is less should i still see my doctor?

did you do anything strenuous yesterday that could cause your body to respond with this pain?

often times unused or overused muscle will contract (spasm) and take a few days to settle down

if not, you may have a problem then, doctors really don't do much but prescribe muscle relaxants that cause extreme diarrhea in many cases or they want to offer surgery so it is wise to proceed with caution

think about it, then decide what is best for you, you should also consider seeing a chiropractor or acupuncturist, their techniques may get you on the road to recovery even sooner than a doctor.

yep see the doctor as a stiff back gets better and so does the pain when you get mobile and if yours didnt means something else is wrong

The type of doctor you absolutely need to see is a chiropractor. You could have a problem with one of the discs in your lower back.

it could be a stiff back or maybe a pinched nerve. i suffer daily with lower back and body pain. I do stretching take aleve and use a heating pad which helps alot.

See your doctor if it happens more than once. If it only happens the one time, it could be a strange way you twisted during your sleep.
