'Why aren't you 'into' me?' Well....?
The guy I've been crushing on for ages turned me down as nicely as possible yesterday saying stuff like "You're great and I admire/respect you so much, but I just don't have those feelings for you" and "I hadn't ever thought of you that way before you told me you liked me."
In my experience, whenever someone says "you're awesome, but I don't think of you that way", it's just a nice, polite way of avoiding the real, deep-down reason for rejection, which is usually something like "I don't find you attractive" or "I can't ever imagine myself with you" - things that are honestly hurtful but that we can't help entering into our calculations.
In your past, what have your reasons been for not being "into" someone who, at least on paper, you should have been crazy about?
