I'm rehabbing a house. I know how to do wiring, but I don't know what the codes are.
Anyone know how far above the floor electrical outlets have to be and how close together they have to be in an Illinois residence in bedrooms, living room, bathroom and kitchen?

Don't need an electrician. I KNOW how to wire and I don't charge an arm and a leg to do it. Just don't know the codes for Illinois.

living, dining, and bed rooms, 12 ft between outlets not including door ways, kitchen codes are as follows: All general outlets must be GFI protected. 2 separate circuits for GFI's on the counter top (you may need additional outlets on the counter depending on how big your counter top, but they don't have to be on separate circuits they can be on your counter circuits). Microwave, stove, refridge, dishwasher, and any other permanent device must be on there own circuit. The wiring in the dining room outlets must be rated for 20 amps, lighting can be 15, bathroom must have a dedicated circuit for the GFI, anything within 6' of a water source must be GFI protected. Lighting can be with another circuit.
