@Mimjoy, I'm a Catholic and we don't believe any saint saves us.

I personally do have a cross.
1Cor 1:18
The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19
For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the learning of the learned I will set aside."
20
Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish?
21
9 For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith.
22
For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom,
23
but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,

On St. Paul and the Cross
"The Risen One Is Always the One Who Has Been Crucified"
For St. Paul, the cross has a fundamental priority in the history of humanity; it represents the principal point of his theology, because to say cross means to say salvation as grace given to every creature. The theme of the cross of Christ becomes an essential and primary element in the preaching of the Apostle: The clearest example of this is regarding the community of Corinth.
Corinthians 2:1-4"The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. …

It is to remind us of two things That we are Christians and we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ We are also committed Christa ins.Christians.Christians are people who evangelise Gospel of Christ and teach the word of God without harassment and people of LOve Hope and Forgiveness
Secondly it is to remind us the climax of our Christa in Faith that God willingly gave up his life in the person of Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that we may have new life in him through the Resurrection which gives us eternal life in Heaven
This Death is not an end of the Road but springs forth new Hope the Lord God Jesus Christ who rose from his Tomb we too will have eternal life and have our glorified bodies when we die and on the last day respectively
Thus the Cross gives us Hope Joy Love Brings us comfort knowing that the God of Jesus Christ is beside us as we carry our crosses everyday as life is not always smooth-sailings.For Jesus says in the Gospel of Mark for anyone who wants to be a followe r of mind let he renounce himself everyday and follow me in the spirit of humility coureage and motherly love
The Cross is thus a perfect symbol for reflecting on our Christian Faith why Jesus lived and died for us how He brings new Joy and Hope in the eternal life he promises and how we should carry our Cross with a Smile
Yours in Christ

Not all Christians wear crosses, but the ones that do they wear them because a cross is where the Lord Jesus died for all our sins, he was crucified at the cross. So the cross will always be a sign that symbolises and identifies Christians from unbelievers.

I wear a cross and I'm not Christian, its a symbol of faith in the western world.

I also wear a thing that has the initial L on it for L from Deathnote.

P.S. That's not where I got 'Light' from.

Because some of us want to wear them. The reasons differ individually. Not all of us wear crosses.
