Genesis has finally been nominated for induction in the 2010 class of the Rock & Roll HoF (about f-ing time).
I would love to see them get in but I really don't hold too much hope because of the HoF isn't too keen on prog rock. Other prog rock groups that should be in but aren't: Moody Blues, ELP, Yes, ELO, Rush to name a few.

Most likely, but as you mentioned, what about other historically "important" bands, like Moody Blues, ELP, Yes, ELO, & Rush, etc.
Genesis is most likely nominated for their "commercially" successful albums, not the earlier Prog.
Look how long ago Phil Collins was inducted and it was not for his Amazing drumming!!
Anyway -- My view of the R&R HOF, is the same as the Grammys -- it's about Money - not Historical Importance.
So, based on that -- I have no respect for the R&R HOF.
