Adding and Subtracting Expressions?

I get the easy stuff..
Example: 4(3x + 7) that equals 12x + 28

I'm confused about giving the opposite of each expression and simplifying some expressions.

Please answer these:
Directions: Give the opposite of each expression.
1. -10t + 21
2. 4a - 4b
3. -7a - 6b - 4c
4. -6x + (2a + 5)
5. (c + d) + y

Directions: Simplify the following expressions.
1. 2a - a
2. 6r - 3r
3. 5a - (3a + 1)
4. (3a +2b) + (-3a + b)
5. (6 - 2c) - (2c+2)
6. (4q + 2) - (2q - 3)
7. 3(f + g) + 7g

Please explain how you got the answers and why in detail. I really want to learn how. Thank you so much! This is super confusing to me!

Use better wording to describe what you want help for. What do you mean "the opposite"? Your example is 4(3x+7) = 12x+28 doesn't describe too well what you want to do for the rest of your problem. Type up what your book says to do.
