Generally I find advertising to be an incredible invasion of the little private life we have, but I am speaking of the way that we are force fed consumer culture.Y'know, eat this, wipe your **** with that, wipe this crap on your face to look young, stick this crud in your dogs bowl, drive this chariot etc. all served up by some nut screaming full tilt at you.
However in answer to your question, some of the artwork behind advertising as a medium of expression is quite mind blowing.
I am in agreement with you regarding that chocolate ad. It recently came to Australia and has won all these awards etc.
One which I really love is for a dog snack called 'Schmackos'. It is kind of dumb but the jingle in it is sung in a really high pitched voice on helium and let's viewers know that 'dogs go wacko for schmackos'.
There are some good websites you may be interested which look at some of the best ads in the world and for the life of me I cannot remember what it's called.
