My turn signal burned out and I changed the bulb and when I went to use it I blew a fuse now and more problem?

My front left turn signal went out so I changed it with what I thought was the right bulb and when I went to use it I blew a fuse. I checked the user's manual and then got the right bulb and replaced the fuse and it still just blows the fuse when I hit the turn signal. So I put the fuse from my radio which is 20 amp in the slot for my turn signals which is supposed to be 7.5 amp just so I could get home with turn signals. When I hit the right turn signal it works fine. When I hit the left signal the light above my speedometer blinks very faintly and my headlights and all the interior lights dim to the sound as if it was the turn signal. Not sure whats going on any help much appreciated =]

First, Pull the fuse and with a ohm meter check for a ground on the lead going to the light from the fuse panel. You will probably get a resistance of< 1.6 ohm(12V/7.5 amp). Then go to where you changed the bulb and remove the bulb to see if the resistance gos to infinite when the bulb is removed(probably won't) now trace the bulb wire back to the fuse block(wiggling till resistance gos to infinite(or a very high number) that will be where the wire is grounded.

You have a short in the wiring harness. You need to have this fixed asap before you burn up the wiring harness.

Unfortunately a short like this can be difficult to track down. You need to carefully inspect the wiring going to your left turn signal. Look for chaffed wires. Look for crossed wires. Check the light bulb socket.

First of all put the correct fuse back in before you set the car on fire.Check the earth connection on the faulty lamp next and if that's ok look for a bare wire, on the live feed to your indicator, touching earth somewhere

it appears you may have a short in the wiring for the left turn light. check all wiring around and near the light, be sur nothing has any wear spots of exposed insulation,,god luck
