"Fishing" means trying to catch fish -- otherwise it would be called "Catching." The tough days are what make the good days so much sweeter.

Remember, the worst day fishing is better than the best day working.

But then, getting skunked always sucks.

No judgment here Big Worm. Its happens to all of us. I can't tell you how many times I came home after getting skunked and realize I "should have thrown this" or "that color would have worked better" but did not think about it on the water. Now just retreat to the lab, relax and regroup. I think you are right on the learning how to fish again at times I have so much fishing info scrambled in my head that a simple Texas rigged worm becomes hard to fish and that was the first lure I learned to fish with. So I have to take a few breaths and slow down and focus on the basics again. I do that these days taking my under spin rod and micro baits to a pond and clear my head of all expectations and just fish, this usually get me out of my slump. With that I usually catch a bunch of small bass, bluegill and crappie. Basics, back to basics

It is called the weather in CA. I have gone out for a few hours Friday-Sunday for the last few weekends and have only caught one catfish which was still only about 5 pounds, other than that, a few striper minnows. THe barometric pressure is flucuating at such a rate that it is damn near impossible to locate the fish let alone intice them to strike. Just look at the weather we had today... We went from 31 ppsi to about 29 and it is lowering. PLUS, the water is getting colder. Trout will be hitting us up here pretty soon, so no worries. I have given up until Thanksgiving.

Hey W,

Don't feel bad! Everyone has off days, (even the Pros!).

Heck, I "skunked-out" of a T last weekend! If my partner had not saved our team we would not have come in a lowly 3rd, (lol).

The info that we hand out here in YAnswer's fishing section is usually the most basic stuff.

BUT, the info HELPS people catch fish!

YOU have HELPED people, (period). And that's a fact.

Don't get discouraged!

I can't belive he just called you "Big Worm" haha!

Listen wormist, I've seen enough of your answers to know that you can catch fish! My past two trips haven't been good either, I took a couple people out last week to try to put them on some Tarpon and between the three of us we only hooked up once and he jumped off. Bad days happen.
