My purple hair dye is rinsing out!?

I got a few streaks professionally done last week and they look great, but whenever I shampoo and rinse my hair in the shower the water turns purple! At first I thought it was just excess dye but after washing it 4 or 5 times I'm worrying that I'm actually removing the pigment bit by bit. I'm using cheapo Suave shampoo and conditioner - could that be the problem? What do I need to do to keep my (wicked awesome) hair from fading?

first of all get color protecting shampoo to help keep your color last longer the sulfates and harsh chemicals in regular shampoo dry out the hair and promote fading or dont wash your hair often. When i had my hair dyed all pink for the first couple weeks extra dye rinsed out in the shower, it should stop but if it lasts more than that or if there is a huge noticeable fade call your stylist. Hope it works out =)

Usually all hair dye washes out. I only use permanent and it washes out a little after every shower. Try using shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. And if there is a shampoo and conditioner that comes with your hair dye that would be even better.

Your hair sound so cool! Ok yes you NEED to use higher quality color preserving shampoo! All the major companies (Suave included) make them, but i can't really recommend one because i've never used one- if you want a less expensive one go to Walgreens/CVS/Rite Aid or your local drugstore and you can find it there, if price doesn't matter i would go to your hair salon and purchase salon-quality shampoo and conditioner: and while you are there ask your stylist if the streaks look OK or if you need them touched up!

Most purple dyes fade very quickly, I had purple done a while ago and it lightened quickly.

The best thing you can do is stick to washing twice a week, or as often as you can get away with. Using a colour enhancing shampoo such as Pantene can help keep the colour strong.

All hair colour has a base colour. in lots of situations that's the two a known (crimson, blue, yellow) or a secondary (pink, green, orange) colour. the way the hair colour is formulated, purely a adequate of this base colour is meant to deposit into/onto the hair shaft to "help" the needed colour---the colour on the colour chart/container conceal. countless issues can influence how quite some the backside deposits, maximum of them having to do with the situation/porosity of the hair earlier the colour is utilized, yet frequently talking, seeing countless it washing out into the bowl is a sturdy sign. you may't quite decide the colour of the result till the hair is virtually thoroughly dry, so i does not panic only yet. even though, if her hair does finally end up pink, provide it a huge gamble. pink is each and all the trend real now! ;D
