Train sets that can quickly and easily be taken apart and put back together?

Hello. My nephew is about to turn 4, and loves trains. However, space is limited, which rules out a stationary toy that takes up a lot of space. Can anyone recommend a good train set which can quickly and easily be taken apart and put back together, preferably for under $75? Thank you.

Bluidangel76, thanks. I'm glad your answer is knowledgeable and thorough, because it's not looking like I'm going to be getting many more. The Brio toys seem to be out of stock, but the Target set seems nice as well.

Target sells a really nice wooden train set every year for Christmas. There are several pieces of wooden track and wooden train cars in each set. Some sets come with trees, buildings, signs and bridges. They're selling a great 50 piece one now for only $20. My girls love them and we usually add a few pieces each year. We also found that Brio makes train cars that work on the wooden track that are battery operated so the trains run on their own. Brio also has what they call smart track. These track pieces fit into your regular lay out and when the trains run over them they can do any number of things from lights and sounds to changing the movement of the train. Brio's website also features a train track designer so you can build your ideal layout online and then print out the plans. These are all easy set up and take down sets some of the Target ones even come with carrying cases.

I hope that helps!

Hi there,
Model trains are my passion since I was a little child. The only good online resource I found is this one http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=416. I'm reading their ebook series and I have learned a lot. Check it out I think it's worth it.
Hope it helps.

Check out Arsa Toys or Hobby Warehouse online. They both have great customer service and fast shipping.

This Thomas the Train train track from Arsa would be perfect for a 4-year-old, and is less than $60:
