My school is having a dress up day and you have to come as a tv or film character. I have no idea what to do.If it helps I have short brown hair, I'm a girl and I'm 5ft 3. I don't want to spend a lot of money so I'm really looking for something involving casual clothes and also not too over the top. Thank you.

These are all good. By the way I live in scotland so can I get some ideas that people in the UK will get cause not everyone will know who I'm meant to be if I go as something american.

Well it depends what kind of friends you have if you want to be serious about it or not but here are some ideas.
-DW from arthur (childish i know), make some aardvark ears out of card and put them on a headband, wear a pink dress with a white tshirt underneath and just some tights and ballet flats.
-Alexa chung, she has short brown hair plus you could pretty much wear anything in her style.
-one of the pink ladies from grease, can't remember their names but im sure 2 of them had brown hair plus you can just wear normal clothes with a pink jacket if you want minimum effort :) friends could complete the pink ladies, maybe even get some T-birds.
- Gretchen from mean girls, if your hair is long enough to curl, and just wear a short skirt and something pink maybe :) maybe other friends can be the rest of them.
- baby from dirty dancing, again if you can curl your hair, then just skinny jeans and plimpsoles and a tshirt.
-one of the girls from St Trinians, adjusting outfit to which 'group' they are in, could even do this with a group of friends.
- Lorraine Kelly, fits in nicely if you're scottish :)
