I am planing to buy an Apple MacBook Pro 15" 2.66GHz (1999USD). Since I'm new to Leapord I'm thinking of getting Windows also installed on it with bootcamp. But I'm not sure which version of Windows can be used on that Mac, x86 or an x64 version. please help me

People on forums say they have installed Windows 7, but I'd be conservative and stick with Vista. As to the question of 32 bit vs 64 bit, that depends upon the hardware. You'll only need 64 bit if you have more than 3GB of RAM. Otherwise stick with the 32 bit version. For the install itself you'll need a non-OEM, non-upgrade version of the OS. Boot Camp is really easy and walks you though the process.
You might also consider installing windows on a virtual machine, which allows you to run Windows within Mac OS. Parallels is a popular app for doing this.

Boot Camp does not yet support Windows 7 (Apple says it will have an update by December). Windows XP is no longer offered for sale. That leaves you with Vista as your only current choice (and with Windows 7 now the "current" release, Vista is now "old generation"). If you're concerned about 32-bit versus 64-bit, don't be -- Apple provides full support for 64-bit Windows (Vista).

Go with the 64-bit version unless you have software you want to run that you know has problems with it.

Search BootCamp Assistant. Open it. Click continue. Get a USB at least 8GB and plug it in. Click continue. Select your USB. Let it do its thing. Resize the partition. Let it do its thing and go thought the setup.

Buy a PC. If you want Leopard that bad just use OSX86, a lot more worth it than getting a Mac only to realize that it's not what you're looking for.
