Sophie Atay appeal on the ITV news?

I thought I'd put this in the UK section, someone else has already brought it up in current events. 

Sophie Atay is a 19mth old toddler and  has neuroblastoma , a rare form of cancer with a low chance of survival. The treatment that would give her up to a 90% chance of survival is only available in America at a huge cost. Its heartbreaking.

I heard her story for the first time on the ITN news earlier this evening. They already have around £100,000 raised, but still need to reach £500,000 in 12 days. 

I saw that donations can be made online through "JustGiving" and added it as a cause on my facebook and forwarded it to my friends.

Like was said on the news this evening, if people just gave a pound, they would be able to raise the money.This little girl's time is running out.

Was this story been public knowledge in the UK before today? I hadn't heard it, but then I am in Ireland.

The fundraising page is www.justgiving.com/sophie-appeal.  The site is running slow because of the extremely large amount of traffic so I'd suggest trying again later tomorrow.

My family donated £100 with a further £28.21 in gift aid as it is tax deductible. But wouldn't it be nice if everyone who watched it donated just £1...one lousy pound...she'd already be on her way to New York now.

The hospital in New York is the only place in the world with this treatment, basically, and all the time she's in the UK she's as good as dead. With this treatment she instantly has a 80-90% chance of FULL recovery and a normal life. How can anyone not be moved by that? I'd give my own life for her if I could. I've had 38 good and mostly happy years.

I've made my donation. 

Her current total raised now stands at over 400k. She's not too far off getting the full amount she needs to get her to New York. If everyone keeps donating, even if it's a small amount, she'll get there. 

I pray that her treatment is successful and she gets her chance in life. She is a sweet little thing.

Its the first time ive seen it on telly, that being today I tried to find out more at itv.com but could not, so just did a general search.
I will be making a donation just hope everyone else does the same.
I know money is tight for a lot of people but £1.00 is nothing but is every thing to this child & family.

I have tried to access the website but it state the account  has been closed or something like that.I would like to give a lillte contributions to this little girl and was hoping lots of others would do the same
