When does the CHP academy usually start? My husband is taking all the tests in January and February, but we were wondering what month (or months) does the 6 months training academy usually begin? I assume there are several going on at once. Thank you in advance for your answers.

There are only 2 CHP academy classes per year. The next one Graduates on December 4th. The next one after that picks up in early January.
Unless they move very quickly and complete his packet by June, that means he won't be going until January 2011. It takes a long time to complete the background investigation, so I would plan for the 2011 class.

I was about to say, it's actually in West Sac, which is different because it's in Yolo County...which is weird but w/e. With the app process, it takes anywhere from 3 to six months (maybe longer) just for the background, then you have all the other things that go along with it. They have a lot of info on the webpage!
