Best Death Metal Bands?

I'm trying to get into some more Death Metal bands, so please give me some of your favorites as well as any songs/albums you'd recommend starting with. I'm generally into Melodic Death and Progressive Death Metal, but I'd like to get more into other sub-genres.

Here are a few I already like, you can name some that are similar or some that are different so it really doesn't matter.

Opeth
Death
Amon Amarth
Dark Tranquillity
At the Gates
Edge of Sanity
Obituary
Suffocation
Arch Enemy
Vader
Eternal Tears of Sorrow
Kalmah
Bloodbath

I could go on and on but that gives you an idea.

10 points for the person who recommends me the most bands that I haven't checked out before and turn out liking. Links would be much appreciated but not necessary.

@ Child of the Grave and UK Goddess. Nice lists, I already know of a lot of those bands but I'll check out the ones I don't know.

Thought I should extend the number of bands that I already like since they are already coming up.

Katatonia
Agalloch
Carcass
Dissection
Morbid Angel
Slayer
Enslaved
Meshuggah

Well Bloodbath are my very favourite, but I see you've already mentioned them. I also love Nile, Fleshrot (not so keen on the pig-like vocals but the instrumentation is fantastic) and Bisected Cripple Pyre.

Bisected Cripple Pyre are a bit more obscure and I couldn't find them on youtube, but here is their myspace page. Don't be put off my the "grindcore/beatdown" label, they're nothing like the deathcore rubbish you get around today, they're really good.
