Is it a case of the harder the better?

Oh, do get you mind out of the gutter haha. I am talking x-words. I love them and enjoy the challenge of doing those weekend ones that have a gazillion general knowledge q's.
The question really should be would you rather an easier one whereby you know that you can complete it or a harder one that really challenges you?
I'm am in the latter camp on this one I think
