Tight ends, anyone? (Details, please!)?

Who has the best tight end? And do you have a favorite tight end play? Myself, I like deep penetration schemes when combined with effective up-front pulling. And any play requiring good hands is HUGE in my book.

It's a game of inches, Vern, and you have to be able to stand tall in the pocket.

Personally, I do not believe that your best fit is at tight end. Based on your height and weight, as well as your strength and ability to catch, I believe that the best fit for you is at the wide receiver position. You have the ideal size for a 7th grade wide receiver. My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this (and every) offseason is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch football player.

I think full frontal assaults are much better in most cases, which can end one up in a tight spot if they play their cards right. Of course, when you're in a tight spot, you must go deep to come out on the winning end.

Tight ends, meh, up front pulling is CAN be quite effective in the matter, but as you say, it's really about good hands.

Now I need a cold shower.

Deep penetration with a tight end? You need the wide receiver for deep penetration..Up front pulling only gets you so far, and often leads to injury. You need to spread it out with good wide receivers...loosen up all resistance. San Francisco typically has good wide receivers and tight ends.

Well, football aside... I'm rather fond of Eddie Vedder's tight end.

Probably a fairly unknown play... I call it the "Tight End Wash".
