I was checking on my turkey in it's brine, and I dropped it...?

I didn't actually drop the turkey on the floor, but about half of the brine spilled out... Now part of the turkey is sticking out of the liquid... I was brining in vegetable stock, water, kosher salt, and some spices and stuff... Do you think I should add more water to cover the turkey? Should I also add more salt? Am I too clumsy for my own good??? HELP! Thanks.

Oh yeah - I'm out of vegetable stock, or I would've just made some more...

Completely immerse your turkey in liquid, even if it's just water. If you have all the ingredients, make a half recipe of the brine you were using and add that. Salt and water would be fine too. Those things are heavy and slippery, don't be hard on yourself. You already had to clean up a big mess!

If you add more water in order to cover the turkey, won't it dilute it? You might just attempt to stretch the brine to cover the entire turkey. Just do the best that you can. Another option is to try to make a half recipe of the brine (if that is at all partially possible. I'm not to familiar with using brine, so that's the best suggestion that I could come up with. Best of Luck!

Add more water and about half the salt your recipe called for.

Sorry, but I have never heard of brine. What is it?
