Ireland and Costa Rica may receive invite to South Africa?

I know this is not a done deal and Blatter has to hold a meeting with the executive committee. But it sounds like this issue is not dead. And IF Ireland is added to the field Blatter would also add Costa Rica as well.

Is this a good idea? Should they do the right thing and add Ireland?

I do not think this a good idea at all. 34 teams throws off the bracket as well as the group stage. If a group suddenly has five teams rather than four, you will have the top seed of that group complaining that they will be at a disadvantage because they have to play one more game than than other teams, therefore their players will be more fatigued and will be too tired for later games. As much as I wish they would do this as some sort of apology to Ireland I do not think they will do this, because it it requires scheduling four more additional games per group that has five in it. I think Fifa will just say no because it will be a hassle.

If Ireland goes, then I think it would be a mistake perhaps. If Henry's handball would of never occured or called as a handball, who knows if France would of scored later on in the game or win in penalties, or the other way around.
