My 2005 Chevy Impala overheats when I start it and the front heater blows cold air.?

When I drive it the temperature returns to normal, although the heater continues to not work well. It'll blow a bit of hot air but not as hot as normal. When I idle at stoplights, the temperature again begins to rise. Is it the thermostat going out or is there not enough coolant/water? Any suggestions?

Coolant is low and theres an air pocket in the system.

Fill up and bleed cooling system- The next part of the problem is, why is the coolant low, how long before it gets low again- you may have a problem on the rise!

Good Luck!

Low coolant level. If thermostat, should have plenty of heat.
