I´m not sure if I made it right... I first boiled 1 L of water and then I poured it into a glass container and added 3 bags of tea. I left it on the kitchen counter and once it´s at a normal temperature I was going to add sugar and a lemon (cut into slices of course) and put it into the refrigerator. Is this right? I was then going to leave it there for about an hour and add ice and serve... Help?

All in all, a good job in my opinion;
Three regular sized tea bags (American) is about right for a liter of tea. My grandmother liked strong sweet iced tea (southern style), so she might have used 4 or even 5
Sugar dissolves much faster in warm rather than cold tea, though with enough stirring it will eventually dissolve in the cold tea.
Refrigerate the tea so it's already cold when you pour it over ice--the ice will melt less and take longer to dilute the flavor of your tea.
Add the lemon in the glass or to the pitcher right before serving--because as mentioned before it will produce a bitter, pithy flavor when over soaked.
No, the sugar has to be added while its hot otherwise it will stay in granules in the bottom, with the lemon at the same time, try doing the whole thing in a saucepan, also, don't just have lemon slices, it won't be strong enough, buy at least one extra lemon and juice it and add it at the same time and I would probably use about 5 or 6 tea bags to 1L of water. Just one extra suggestion, see if you can get some fresh mint from your fruit and vegie shop, you can put some of it in with the other ingredient and run the brew though a sieve before serving, to remove any pips and pulp and boiled mint, use the rest as a garnish with the lemon wedges. Personally I'd try a test run at least once before you try it on your friends, it actually a really fun recipe to perfect to you own tastes.
