Atheists, do you have many non-believer friends in your town?
I am the only atheist I know in my town...it's discouraging. How about you guys? Do you have a good bundle of atheist friends or are you all alone in a sea of creationists as well?

No, I don't know any either. I have many atheist friends online.
I do have a lot of very open minded tolerant religious friends though.
Try going to more liberal places, coffee houses, poetry readings, art shows. You will find people. It's not easy.
Also look for facebook groups in your area for atheists. Even here in Salt Lake City there are some.

I live in a college where there are a lot of atheists but in my home town there were very few. There were also very few extremely religious people so it balances out. The problem is that being atheist is not something that is immediately recognizable so you may know people who are atheist but the subject of religion never came up when you were with them. There also may be people in your town that are atheist but you don't know them. Also being atheist is more popular with younger people so it could be a generational thing.

I live in California, so there's a pretty good mix of every kind of religious and non-religious affiliations here.
And don't worry,
you don't look like a guy at all..

maybe its because you live in a town..most people in cities are either agnostic or athiest, or believe in god, but not any actual religion. Most the people whom attend church are seniors.
