Can I ask y'all a quick question?

About how much would it cost to fix the gas gauge in a 91 explorer? And how exactly do you do it? Is it a really difficult and complicated thing?

First you need to test the Fuel Guage System to verify whether or not it is the Sender or the Guage...
"usualy The Sender"...
The Guage itself requires R&R and disssasembly and re-assembly of the dash & Instrument cluster.

The sender requires R&R of the fuel tank and fuel pump, and replacement of the sending unit which is integral to the pump.

Neither are fun or exactly easy !!!!!

Difficultry scale: 1 to 10..... (10 being the hardest)....
Dash / Guage = 7
Tank / Sender = 8 and requires special tools

sure! you can ask us anything. it might not be the gas gauge but the sending unit in the tank but to fix that you have to drop the tank. it can be difficult sometimes if things don,t go right but most of the time changing the unit is,nt too bad as long as you don,t have a full tank when you drop it.

depends weather its from the gauge itself or the sensor or the connection u need to know where the problem is fixingit alone is a bit chalenging esp knowing where the problem is but doing it at a echanics shouldnt be an expensive thing

it may just be a fuse.
but it the sending unit it dead you will need to drop the tank to remove it and replace it.
