I was a huge fan, of everything about him. His temperament, his attitude, his fighting style, the fact that he does things a guy his size really shouldn't be doing. When Manny did not clearly state he wanted to fight Mayweather straight after the Hatton fight and straight after the Cotto fight i lost some respect. For him to pull out of the biggest PPV in history and possibly bring boxing back to the mainstream has made me lose a great amount of respect for him.
I don't understand the 30 day limit, you don't need 30 days to recover from giving a tiny sip of blood but you do need 30 days for something not to show up in your system. Damn you Manny i used to look up to you.

Lost respect? No. First, you have to understand; Manny is very careful about the words he uses when making public statements. He doesn't have to clearly state anything, aside from the fact that most of the time, he has a hard time doing so in English. His skills in the ring and his attitude towards the sport do the talking. He makes it very clear that he is not afraid to fight anyone and he wants to do nothing more than "his job" when it comes to boxing.
Manny doesn't do it for the money. Instead he wants to retire from boxing to be a congressman in the Philippines which pays hardly a fraction of what he makes every time he steps inside the ring. The man just likes to box. He doesn't care who he boxes and he does not see the sport of boxing in the same eyes that Mayweather does. That's what his training and promotion team is for.
As far as the drug testing is concerned, Manny and his team are not going to let Mayweather's camp push him around like he's some kind of punk. Arum and Top Rank knew from the get-go that negotiating this fight was going to be close to impossible, given that Mayweather was going to be extremely difficult with agreeing to almost every aspect of the fight. What is astonishing is that before the negotiations took place, Mayweather stated in interviews that Manny is a "one dimensional" fighter and that beating him will be "easy." Then just weeks later, as the fight of the century is finally become realized, Mayweather is suddenly stricken with "great doubt as to the level of fairness" he will be subject to stepping into the ring with Manny, demanding that both fighters be subject to random drug tests and implying that Manny has been taking steroids aka PEDs. This is by far the worst way to spit on someone's career and achievements. The lowest of blows in my book. And as a result? Fans such as yourself questioning the respect of one of your favorite athletes. Exactly what the Mayweathers' wanted.
So to once again answer your question: No, I have not lost respect for Manny Pacquiao. If anything, I have lost a great deal of respect for Floyd Mayweather Jr. Having a perfect record is one thing. But having a perfect record and not upholding it is another. This fiasco regarding random drug tests was Mayweather's perfect ticket to dodge this fight and screwing the world out of seeing what could be one of the most amazing match-ups in all of sports history.
Just because Manny Pacquiao is an amazing fighter who has conquered feats that no other boxer has done or ever dreamed of, does not mean he should be subject to random drug testing for PEDs based on a vicious, jealousy-driven rumor started by the Mayweathers and Goldenboy Promotions. Aside from these rumors, there has been no prior evidence or speculation that Manny has ever used steroids or any performance enhancing drugs for that matter. Everyone doubts him, then he proves to be awesome. Again and again and again.
Finally, Arum and Top Rank suggested that the Nevada State Athletic Commission be in charge of the drug testing for the fight. Manny has no problem with this. He is not afraid to take a drug test, he is just leery to subject himself to blood tests done randomly, without limits to the date of the fight or his training, with an organization [the United States Anti Doping Agency] that he is not familiar with and has never been legitimately involved with professional boxing.
Manny has nothing to prove to Mayweather because Manny has already proved himself to the world. He is currently THE number one pound-for-pound boxer in the entire world; something that "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather gave up a long time ago when he retired. If Floyd wants to make a comeback, he needs to fight someone legitimate and prove himself to the world once again. If not, he needs to just sit down and shut up. There is reason why he dont want to take the blood test close to the fight because it weaken him when he fought Morales. He already agree to take the blood test 1 month before the fight and if anything anything or accident happen in the 1 month he can recover. You must not know anything about boxing. Pacquiao is an honest fighter and has never tested positive on any drug test that has ever been performed on him either before or after a fight. And now, you want to believe the accusations of the blabbermouth who is a convicted drug dealer and addict? Do you even know that much about the agency that the Mayweathers want to do the testing? Do you think the agencies that are presently doing these tests are unreliable just because Manny passed them all? I am not a fan of any boxer, if you see the Cotto and Pacquiao fight when he was interviewed right after the fight Manny does not even say he dont want to fight Floyd,what he say is it is up to Bob Arum who he is going to fight,that is so simple to understand my friend that he is going to fight whoever it is as long as it is in his division and the price is right,in the world of boxing every fighter will fight as long as the money is good, except for Floyd who prepares an easy win that!s why he is so choosy to fight a smaller guys so he can always cheat the agreed weight limit,just only pay a little money for being overweight.When it comes to the blood test you better forget it my friend as it is not the NSAC who requires the test,it is one of Floyd!s requirements as he want to exit the fight because he realize fighting Manny is not an easy win for him if he is going to win, he!s too nervous and cowards to face Manny right inside the middle of the ring.so I have no valid reason at all to lost my respect of this guy.
