We were using the laptop to play games that are on CDROM.?
Now I'm getting a message that says CDROM not found. To put the disk in any retry. I've done so. I've also rebooted. It still isn't working. It's a Dell laptop with Windows XP.

Try uninstalling and letting windows re-discover the drive. To do this you right click on my computer, click manage, click device manager and then once device manager is open find the cd/dd drive, right click and then click uninstall.
Reboot and your laptop should find the cd drive and re-install it.

Your laptop might be having trouble reading the CD (ie. too many scratches) or the CDROM could be bad. Insert the CD in another computer and see if it reads it. Insert other CDs and see if the laptop can read it.
