JLP vs. PNP Which one is right for Jamaica? Why?

I know I could spark some controversey with this question but I wanted to get a better idea of what Jamaican people and others thought of each party. Can we unite Jamaica and stop the killing? Please respond.

Didn't know that Jamaica was sheltering homeless Haitians, that seems very illogical based on the overpopulation and problems that Jamaica already faces.

i would say neither. As a true born Jamaican i see this country in a seriously dangerous crisis and its very pathetic that we are an independent nation that cannot provide for itself and its people. There are hardly any jobs. No opportunity for young people and worse the now existing government is taking in refugees from Haiti to house and feed while its own people are going hungry and the crime rate is depressing.
I think we were seriously not ready to be an independent nation and should not have left from under the British ruling. The only thing that can probably save this country is if it is owned once again by the British or a mother country that has a true workable vision for the people. No matter which political party i honestly dont think this country can return back to what it was in the past. We are already labeled as the killing capital of the world which is unfair but in fact true since the crime rate is unbelievable for such a small island and the govenment is inviting haitians to add to this like we dont have our own problems to deal with.
We can only pray for the best and ask father God to see us through these rough times that we are facing in this country - what else can we do.

Neither party can help Jamaica. Jamaica has too many 'comfortable' intellectuals at the top. The people need a leader who is foreign educated (as in having the ability to bring new ideas and make drastic changes.) Most Jamaicans believe the politicians let gunmen run loose so that they can use them as enforcers to bully citizens and help them get votes. All of Jamaica's troubles start at the top. The people need leaders who are there to lead, not get power and wealth. Besides, unless the US sends help to guard the seas around the area and stop the drug trafficking, the guns will continue to show up in Jamaica and the country will become even more violent. I don't know how the Haiti earthquake will play out in this saga. Maybe now there won't be as much gun/drug trafficking between Haiti and Jamaica. Right now,the leaders are powerless. I'm not hopeful for positive change in my lifetime and that's sad.

I think that Jamaica needs leaders that don't care about politics but more on the citizens themselves. Let's forget the actual personalities in each party and look at some facts. During the 18 years of PNP rule 1989 to 2007 the economy grew slightly (less than 1%) or nothing at all each year. Not a jlp supporter but as I said before jamaica needs visionary leadership.

I have no idea which party is right for Jamaica. People opinions about politics are always changing. I think both parties are right at some point. It depends on the issue, the economy, the mood of society, the weather etc. I think the bigger problem is that people need to respect that everyone has different opinions and just because we differ does not mean that a life should be lost over it. We can agree to disagree. Notwithstanding that statement, political unrest leading to violence is typical of any society..like in Lord of the Flies...

u . s . a . out performed Canada. performed poorly against Panama. And way out performed Guadeloupe. If each physique shows up like they did against Canada, they might desire to have not have been given any concern with Jamaica. that's going to be a sturdy game yet usa will win 2-a million at the back of the scoring ability of Jozy Altidore and standard play of Dempsey, Bradley, and Howard. u . s . a .!!!
