Any factual replies or wild guesses why Burj Dubai has been named Burj Khalifa?
When Burj Dubai (the worlds highest building) was inaugurated and opened to the public, it was renamed Burj Khalifa in honor of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the dedication of the building. Overnight, all tourism items like T-shirts, crystals, figurines, carvings, pens, exclusive watches, postcards, scarves, etc.... you name it - all went down in terms of prices and value. Millions were lost by businenesses and traders. Items were selling below cost and still - none were buying (who will buy something that is no longer existing :)
Been travelling lately H.... i'm quite sure you are as well...
H : On the contrary, quite a number of Shk Zayed's (God bless his soul) sons were there like Deputy PM and Minister of Presidential Affair - Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed was there. Rulers Rep to Western Region (al Gharbia) Sheikh Hamdan was also there, Foreign Affairs Min. HH Sheikh Abdullah was there, Interior Minister HH Sheikh Saif was also present and the guest of honor - Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region HH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mubarak Al Nahyan were there...
Interesting answer tin.
However, I'm not aware neither heard of the fact that the name 'Burj Dubai" has been registered, copyrighted, patented nor trademarked by anybody even by Emaar Property - the developer and rightful owner. So to reply to your answer - to whom then a license should be applied for the use of the name?
