No. Think of the name Lee. There are people with this name from Korea, China, England, Norway, Italy and France.

My surname came from the name of one of the farms in Norway with this name. So those who immigrated and took this name are not related to since they came from different areas of Norway.

No if you have a very unusual surname it is possible but most last names originated as a way of describing a person, either by their by their job E.g Smith, how they looked e.g. White, Where they lived eg Hill or London, or who they were related to eg Johnson. So if I lived on a hill in my village and if you lived on a hill in yours we might both end up with the surname Hill even though we would not be related at all.

Not necessarily. I mean there are adopted people who take the last name of the person that adopts them. So they're technically not related to that family by blood even though they share the same last name.

Oh my gods, NO. One of the easiest examples to prove my point is this: Robert E. Lee was NOT related to Bruce Lee!
