Since Jr. didn't win, they can't claim that every team in NASCAR conspired for Jr. to win it. On the other hand, he wasn't in the back, so they can't pull the overrated card. I will say, it IS plate racing, and it certainly doesn't dictate the rest of the season, but you have to admit that Jr. was impressive today considering his performance last year.

they're going to make up stuff saying JR cheated somehow, looks like a couple already answered on this question, im not sure if anybody bumped JR but if 00 did whats the big deal, people did that all day, restrictor plate racing if your not hooked up with anybody your going backwards so bumping is all its about at Daytona and Dega so nice try by "Caribou "QUIT" Barbie" but not a good argument, and then "JimBob" is talking about last year, well this is a new year and JR might have been in the 20s in that race last year but he could have had a bad handling car, and where was the other Hendrick cars (including 14 and 39) in this race then? closest behind JR was Mark Martin in 12th, it amazes me that people still want to hate and will always find a way to hate, maybe some people are mad that JR isn't bad like they want to think
smileyboy i mean smileyman - what would real racing be? 400-500 miles of 0 crashes or wrecks? just going and going with nothing happening at all? i guess you liked last season when they said you couldn't go below the yellow line, no bump drafting and the smaller plates, if you say its not real racing only because of the plates then maybe its because of safety, they'd easily get over 200 maybe 210 mph without something slowing the cars down, the plates alone split the HP in half from 800+ all the way down to 400+, even only 400+ HP they can still go 190 HP, so to me its real racing, if you don't like those tracks then don't watch the races on those tracks, simple as that
Yeah Dale Earnhardt Jr. was very impressive today and most of the day he kept his car consistent in the top 15, top 20, around 16th place and had a loose car. He went from 10th to second in that green/white/checkered finish. That was a good performance for him so he could build up some momentum in the Auto Club 500 next week, and for the rest of the season. If he keeps racing like this he could get into the Chase and contend for the championship. The Jr. haters would probably still hate on him and call him overrated though.
You're right about the last sentence in regards to plate racing. Junior is going to need to show more consistency on the 1.5 mile tracks if he wants to shake off the criticism.
It'll be interesting seeing who Rick Hendrick will choose to be the odd driver out this season (poor cars, no help on the track, etc). It looks like he's going to have to pick between his four-time champions.

So far so good but there are 35 races left in the season lol. I was so damn excited when he came from 10th to about 4th with 1 lap to go and i just almost fainted lol. Ofcourse haters will still hate cause thats what they do. I just hope him and his team can be consistent this year cause everything seems to go wrong every year for junebug. This should give him and his team the confidence they need for the start of the season.
