Logically it appears suffering is inescapable but one must understand the world of duality is paradoxical where the opposite is always possible. Suffering itself cannot be a tool and is the object in which a tool can be applied. We all have the tool but most don’t know how to use it.
The first step is to see the root of suffering; what it is and its cause. Suffering is the symptom of a deeper agent beneath the surface. Silent observation or inner vision is the microscopic tool needed to explore the roots of suffering. In the moment of suffering don’t analyze or add the preconceived concepts of it just observe, observe, observe. When attentively seen suffering drops on its own accord.
Suffering is the hidden desire in the mind to be separated from the whole, better said, the inability to fulfill said desire is the cause of all suffering. If you want to kill the root quit watering it with desire. Simply except and go with the flow. Trust is deeper than belief.

You could say that ur experiences can make u impervious to pain. But for my honest opinion, i know what you mean. Almost not worth it to use it any type of growth since itll all be for nothing, not worth the effort to me. Yet im the pessimistic type, id like to see what the people living lies have to say. If you suffer today, youll suffer tomorow i know how it goes. Just find something or someone that makes you happy and dont let it go.

There is only one way that i am aware of...
embrace the pain and turn it over to God...
to a 'higher power' for those who have a difficulty admitting that there is a God.
for left to our own devices...
we will simply suffer.
good luck.
edit: i was just reading this extract in "Love is the Wine" ... and i thought of this question so here it is...
"Because of his submission to Divine Will, for each moment of suffering, his spiritual level rose. Because Ibrahim Ad'ham had left this world, he had left the pains of this world. Yet you have to suffer the pains of this world for your spiritual level to rise.
All scriptures say we are brought to this world to be tested. You can find this in the tradition of Moses, in the tradition of Jesus, and in the tradition of Muhammed.
But what is testing? A teacher tests students to determine their abilities, the level of their knowledge. The teacher does not know how much the students have learned. But doesn't God know? God knows perfectly our abilities, our knowledge, and our level of consciousness. The reason for God's tests is to make us know. Tests show us where we are, and let others know where they are, through both our tests and theirs.
The ones who suffer the worst trials are the beloved of God- the prophets, the saints, and God's teachers. They are visible symbols of humanity, whose job is to show others our purpose on earth."

Suffering is resistance in a manner of speaking, the absence of such would limit the growth of the Soul.

In very basic terms, what does not kill you makes you stronger. If you have to live with it one learns how to overcome it eventually. For someone who understands that everything is mental, then the mental state of suffering can be transmuted.
