Any thoughts regarding why I would get thumbs-down for factual answers, or who would do it?
I don't really care, but I would like to understand it.
A few days ago somebody asked a question about the history of the internet. I answered the question correctly, and gave a source. I posted no information which could have been considered offensive or incorrect.
I got best answer, four thumbs-up - and four thumbs-down.
The thumbs down could not greater require a proof then the thumbs up. i attempt to offer genuine and maximum appropriate solutions additionally and want that what I unquestionably have mentioned has helped the guy who asked the question. climate the others who're examining and writing solutions available cherished what I had to declare does not unquestionably rely to me. that isn't something to obsess over.
Looks like you sparked more interest but I agree with you that it is difficult to understand those who can't accept facts. The only people I know like that are ones who suffer from the dogma disease.
One possibility is people who have a grudge against you. There's only one person I thumbs down every answer, so you must have made quite an impression (if that was their reason).
I was going to say another possibility is maybe there's people who thumb down all wikipedia links, but yours isn't a wikipedia link.
Or another possibility is somebody got a thumbs down, thought you did it, so they thumbed you down in retaliation.
Maybe a combination of those and other reasons I haven't thought of.
edit: and of course you're getting more thumbs down because you made a question about it, and there's always an urge to thumb someone down when they make a question about it.
