Who are the "blue" characters on Battlefield Bad Company 2 (PS3)?

I was playing team deathmatch this morning and there were blue characters (blue triangle above their character and their names were blue).  My team mates were green and the enemy orange.  Were they bots?

they are people who are in your squad you can spawn on these and join them by selecting join squad before the match starts.

There are no bots on bfbc2
