How do I turn on a wireless connection on my laptop?
My daughter has a Compaq laptop with a Vista operating system. It was working fine with our wireless router until today. The troubleshooting guide says to check the "switch" along the edge of the device or use a "key combination" to turn it on or off. I don't know of a key combination and none of the keys have a symbol that looks like it should work. Where would I find this switch?

well first of all not all laptops have a actually on and off switch for their wireless capabilities. but with the laptop you are using you probably have to have to use some sort of combination that is actually a pretty simple one, for my dell xps laptop it was something very simple. example: Shift+f1 key , really something that simple , to find out your laptops combo , you should probably google it.
but also if the problem persists , you probably have something else wrong than simply having the wireless switched on or off.
The key looks like a tower with sound signals coming off, usually above the numbers. And check around the laptop, i used to have a toshiba and the switch was on the edges like near the power plug in. Hope you find it :)
go to the start tab (windows logo bottom left corner), "Connect To" tab in the middle of the right side, and then click the server you want to connect to.
