Do You Think Openly Gay People Should Be Allowed In The Marine Corps?
Versus the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. I think it would create a lot of issues, and infringe on the rights of heterosexual Marines. Would you want to shower next to someone of the same sex who was checking you out in a sexual way?

I personally don't have a problem with gay people in the military. I'm speaking about the Marine Corps as a whole. I know for a fact that there is a lot of hostility towards gay people in the Corp. I'm sure in a fire fight it doesn't matter whether the person next to you is gay or straight, as long as they're shooting the people shooting you. I just think they will have to work three times as hard to prove their worth.

and as far as the "Would you want to shower next to someone of the same sex who was checking you out in a sexual way?"-thing goes...what about shower rooms at (indoor) swimming pools, gyms, etc?? where's the difference?
It's okay to be Gay!!!! Why is homosexuality even considered an issue? Marines need to spend Less time watching F** News, Complaining about Obama, Thinking that gun toting should be mandatory, complaining about the "hippie tree lovers", hating everyone that doesn't fit into the W.A.S. P. mentality, and MORE time reading books and learning about things like the Spartans who were in fact asked to be "GAY" because it help them form a closer bond.
As a Gay supprting, hippie tree loving non-WASP, I would say that the Marine mentality infringes on my right to exsist! If they don't like be stared at in the shower-tough beans! I thought they were tough enough to handle it?
if it really bothers you so much that a guy next to you might be checking you out you either have some body issues or some repressed homosexual issues you need to work on
i have no problem with anyone that wants to fight for the country lets put it this way if you found out someone that you considered a friend and a great solder was gay would it really change the things they have done?
woah, guess you hit a nerve, I think even though I view it as a human rights issue and therefore think they have a right to be, you've got a point, It will create a ton of issues, but I'd be worried about that guy who just got checked out pummeling the other guy for looking, some people are like that *shrug*. and that WILL be an issue, blah blah hate crime blah blah homophobic stuff, and both cereers would be ruined, but even if they aren't openly gay, they're still gay, and they're prolly already checking you out. tho actually knowing that is the problem I guess. To be honest, I don't know, half of me wants them out of the closet if they wanna be, but the other half worries about their safety if they are.
If someone wants to fight for our country who cares that they're gay? You really need to grow up and get over yourself, who says a guy would want to check you out anyway?
