whats the best way to intrduce and 8 month old pitbull to a new akita puppy?

the pit puppy gose to the dog park and  is happy to meet other dogs now at 4 months  but i am worried about when she is bigger will she at around eight months  (she will be spayed ) be ok to introduce to a 6 week old puppy . I  put a deposite on a new puppy before this pit puppy was abandoned  at the dog park and my boy friend  brought her  home .  she is careful with smaller dogs but gets very rowdy with larger dogs  ..... what are some things i should owrry about (i have owned akitas before but not  pit bulls  though i have been around them )

I'm sure you know that akitas and pit bulls can both be troublesome dogs, since you have owned akitas before. I'm sure you also know that they can be wonderful and loving dogs. My suggestion would be to get the pit bull into training so they have some discipline before they meet the baby akita.

Take them to a neutral location (maybe the park you found the pit bull in) to introduce them, and don't leave them alone together. Maybe once you get them home, you can keep the baby in a spare room (not the bed that your pit currently uses or he might get jealous) or the bathroom to help the pit get used to the idea of having another dog in the house.

Good luck, and if you don't have the energy to deal with 2 high maintenance puppies/dogs, please don't feel bad about finding one or the other another loving home!

Bringing a second dog home requires a lot of thought. It means a complete change in your “normal” family routine. It matters not whether the new dog is a puppy or an adult.
There are many things to consider before you bring the new pet home.
It is not just a matter of bringing the new dog home and you all will live happily ever after (though that can be a remote possibility.

I think once you let your reputable Akita breeder know that you have now taken on a pit puppy that they will refund you your deposit.

No reputable Akita breeder is going to place one of their puppies in a home that already has another puppy in it, and another dog aggressive breed.

When introducing a new dog to a resident dog, always let them meet on "neutral grounds." Keep both dogs on lead.
