Are US Census Workers Employees or Independent Contractors?

I have been offered work with the Census and the pay is good, hours are flexible and I am seriously considering accepting - even though it's temporary. Would I be paid as an employee with taxes deducted or do I complete a 1099 and compensated as an Independent Contractor?

i could classify her as an autonomous contractor. as long as you do no longer dictate to her what hours she has to artwork. it relatively is thoroughly ok, which you compromise at the same time what hours she works. additionally, she would not could desire to apply your laptop & telephone. She does this so she isn't responsible for controlling the data out of the place of work.
