I am wondering if anyone out there can help me.
I am an English female who is engage to a female to male transsexual man, he has his Gender Recognition Certificate and we are currently planning our registry office wedding.
My family is catholic, they are very open minded and accepting of our relationship, but they would like it for us to get a catholic priest to bless the union.
Does anyone out there know if this would be possible as I am not sure.

hi hon. i think it's perfectly wonderful that you aren't bitter about your faith's trepidation with sexual and gender difficulties. you might have to look a bit, but i think if you ask around you'll find such a priest. i am not all that sure about how it's going in the isles, but here in the states there are many progressive catholics who stretch the vatican rules pretty far. my best friend is a transwoman and catholic, she has had some real difficulties in her church but has of late been offered communion and is doing quite well.

Leanne I am also not sure, some of these things are up to the priest as some will sday yes and others might refuse.
the fact that you are married in a register office means that you probably could get your marriage 'convalidated' in church, once again up to the priest

yes there is, go to bali, and hold your wedding there. bali is one of the most heck care place, where many gays and lesbian settle down there, and have the catholic priest to bless the union, but there will be no marriage certificate as Indonesia doesnt legalize gay marriage. go back to your country to get the paper done.
