As yet, we don't know but there is no reason there shouldn't be. We know by our own existence that the universe is conducive to life. Some day, we may know for sure whether we are alone in the universe. In the meantime the search goes on, as we also try to understand the universe and how it may be conducive to life.

If you have the time check this video out of a hubble telescope image that shows how real the possibility of life else where can be. It's the farthest we've ever seen out into deep space, and in the little tiny spot that we looked (which from the naked eye is smaller than a pin point in the sky), it contained hundreds of galaxys. Each galaxy contains millions of stars, each with a possibility of planets and life. It shows how big the Universe really is.

Check this out for a size comparison of how big things can actuallly get. It's Earth compared to the sun, the sun compred to a larger star, then the larger star compared to the largest start known. The size of it is mind boggling.

Do I "think" we are the only ones...
No.

Do I "know" there are others?
No

Do I "think" we have been visited by beings from outside Earth?
No.

Do I think or know that there is a cover-up?
I am almost certain that a cover-up of this nature is impossible. It would involve far too many people, some of them having completely opposite ideology (for example, what argument does the US government use to convince Iranian astronomers to join them in the cover up?)

I don't really think about it much. If there is other life in the universe, that's great.
If not, that's great too. Doesn't really affect me though, either way. In my opinion
the purpose of space exploration is not to seek other life, but simply to find out
what's out there. Knowledge for the sake of knowledge, you know?

No. Go outside some time and look at all the birds and animals around us. They are living beings too.
