What was more impressive PacMan v. Cotto or Mayweather v. Mosely?

Both top welterweights; considereing it was a post-Margarito Cott and a 38 year old Shane coming off the layoff.

Not trying to start anything - just curious.

Pacman Cotto. The Cotto that fought Pac would have knocked out the Mosley that fought Mayweather.

The Guru - oh, wait, you forgot to mention that Cotto BEAT Mosley. A Mosley that was 3 years younger than the Mosley who fought Mayweather.

Considering the styles of both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, both performances were equally impressive but if I absolutely had to choose which performance I thought was more impressive, I would most likely choose Manny Pacquiao's victory over Miguel Cotto.

The thing is that Pacquiao is a very aggressive fighter whereas Mayweather is a slick and defensive counter puncher, so it's kind of hard to compare their performances but I gave the edge to Manny because he got the stoppage and brutally reconfigured Cotto's face whereas Mayweather won dominantly but he never dropped or stopped Mosley and he didn't brutalize his face like Pacquiao did to Cotto.

The performances were similar in a few ways though- with Pacquiao, he had some trouble in the early going against Cotto and lost the first round and was losing the fourth round big until he caught Cotto with a hard uppercut that rocked his world: and with Mayweather, he also had some trouble for the first few rounds against Mosley because he arguably lost the first round and was almost knocked down in the second round and if Floyd's knee did in fact touch the canvas, then it should have been ruled a knockdown. And in both fights, after the early rounds, both Pacquiao and Mayweather dominated to win lopsidedly although as I previously stated, the main difference was that Pacquiao got the stoppage and brutalized Cotto's face whereas Mayweather just cruised to a lopsided unanimous decision. And lastly, I would also be inclined to give Pacquiao the edge because he defeated Cotto and Cotto had previously beaten Mosley, so Mayweather fought a guy who had lost to the guy who Pacquiao beat.

I would say both hold their value.

For show: Pac-Cotto
Lots of action. Great first 4 rounds. A massacre from that point on. Cotto was dead and even my grandma could land on him from that point. It was a great display of heart and foolishness from Cotto to try to make it to the 12th bell.

For a display of skills: Mayweather - Mosley
Not as much action but amazing display of skills. It was really impressive to see how Floyd countered Shane for most of the fight. Those counter replays are priceless, beautiful.

Pacman and Cotto, because before that fight everybody is wondering if Manny could handle a real welterweight and on that fight everybody saw that Manny can take a punch or hit for some rounds compare to mayweather's fight It's only one round (2nd) for Mosley.
