Why did God give Moses ten commandments as a potential path to eternity..?
and then, a few hundred years later, give Buddha the same instructions - in the form of the eightfold path or the middle way? Did he want us always to be separated by religion?

Look at this way. Moses was speaking to a particular time and culture and he gave them rules for living that suited that environment. The Buddha was speaking to a different time and culture, so he phrased the same rules differently to fit that environment. The "rules" of how to live in kindness and respect to your fellow man are universal, but they must be put in context of the culture. If we look at objectively, it is not a separation at all, merely a restating of the same principles in a different way to fit the culture in which they are stated. Blessings on your Journey!
God the Father did not give Moses the 10 commandments or the 613 laws, they were given to Moses by Lucifer, the rider of the red, black and pale horses. The serpent that Moses worshiped in the wilderness was the second beast.
The churches all religions are children of Lucifer, they are the tares, and Lucifer sent them into the world to deceive us.
Jesus came to bring us the Truth, but the children of the evil one kept the words of Jesus from you in the beginning and now those same children teach the doctrine of the evil one and teach you things that Jesus did not say.
There are many who can see the evil works of Moses, but Lucifer who have you believe that the words Moses spoke were from God, THEY WERE NOT, as Jesus told you, but you will not believe Jesus and only Jesus.
Eternity was promises by Moses, not God the Father, God the Father promised Everlasting Life.
The true church of God the Father was built without hands, it is a spiritual church made by Jesus the Chrsit for His Father. This church is the word of God which is inside each of us and all around us, it is not a building made with wood or concreat.
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments to teach us that we could not be saved with out a savior. Since no person can keep them all and committing one is the same as committing all. It is satan who sets up false paths to lead as many astray as he can.
